The More Centered We Are, the More All Phenomena Come Spilling Out of the Depths of the Inner Canyon5/2/2016 “It is an amazing thing that something flows forth and nonetheless remains within . . . All creatures flow outward and nonetheless remain within – that is extremely amazing.” “The [Source] speaks the Word unspoken, and the Word remains within.” Meister Eckhart 13th century German mystic When we practice Wilderness Contemplative Prayer, we let go of all thoughts, perceptions and emotions, and allow ourselves to be drawn inward - in Silence - toward the endlessly-deep magnetic presence of our Source. But then an amazing thing happens. The more deeply we move toward our innermost Center, the more we discover to our great surprise that all of those same thoughts, perceptions and emotions are actually emerging OUT OF the inner canyon, like echoes of a Divine love-word that never had a chance to be spoken on account of our Source's eternally self-emptying bliss! How amazing! The more inward we allow ourselves to be drawn, the more everything appears - suddenly and spontaneously - in the external world, leaping out of the endless depths of the inner canyon as though out of nowhere!
