The Feeling of Lack is Not a Weakness But is the Very Thing That Binds the World Together!2/14/2016 Contrary to what modern pop spirituality would tell us, longing and desire - together with the sense that we are LACKING something - is not an "unspiritual' attitude that we should seek to eradicate with a feeling of fullness and completeness. Rather, unfulfilled desire is the "glue" that holds the world together! The fact that each of you have a set of gifts and a unique perspective on life that I am lacking, only serves all the more to bind us into One. For every one of you is a one-of-a-kind strand in the immense Web of Life that the rest of us desperately need! And this includes not only human beings, but more-than-human plant and animal species as well as landscapes, geologic features, seascapes and skies. The fact that none of us "has it all" and need to learn from one another is NOT a weakness; rather, it is our most fulfilling blessing! How boring life would be if we did indeed possess everything within ourselves! Isn't it wonderful to be able to reach outside ourselves in order to be changed and transformed by the perspective of another? How amazing this life truly is, where we can open ourselves to one another in order to find a Greater Completeness of which we are ALL an integral part!
