Can We Envision a Sacred Masculinity?

People rightly talk about the oppressive nature of patriarchy - of which a certain presidential candidate by the last name of "Trump" is seemingly a chief embodiment - but to be honest, I think humanity has hardly begun to fathom what a SACRED masculinity might be.

If we took the traditional imagery of the "sky god" seriously, we would realize that masculinity is meant to serve as a vast, sky-like backdrop upon which the web-like energies and forms of the cosmos - embodiments of the Divine Feminine, if you like - can manifest themselves and thrive in all of their beauty and goodness. Perhaps the strong, silent presence of Joseph - Jesus' father - is a chief example.

Then, of course, there is also the masculine visionary gaze, which lovingly penetrates through the superficial distractions and surfaces of life in order to uncover, highlight and defend the sacredness present at the core of each and every thing. Its function is to EMPOWER rather than exercise "power-over," the latter being an attitude whose time should have long ago expired and disappeared.

Is the world ready for this kind of Sacred Masculine? I believe not only that it is ready, but that it is CRAVING such a presence, ready to manifest itself in all men, in all women, and in everyone in between and beyond! 😊
